If you’ve never tried hypnotherapy before, it’s perfectly normal to feel curious — and maybe even a bit nervous.
Let’s clear up a few common misconceptions and give you a glimpse of what actually happens in a session, so you can walk in feeling informed and at ease.
First, We Talk
Before anything begins, we have a calm, confidential chat about what you’d like to achieve — whether it’s better sleep, less anxiety, or breaking a habit.
There’s no judgment, no “analysis,” just space to explore what’s been happening and what you’d like to change. You can book your free consultation straight away. I then prepare a tailored script and book you for a session. This can be online or offline.
Then, Relaxation Begins
You’ll sit or lie comfortably as I guide you into a deeply relaxed state using my voice — often through breathing, imagery, or gentle suggestion.
You won’t be “asleep” or “under my control.” You’ll simply feel very peaceful, a bit like daydreaming or that floating feeling before you drift off to sleep.
Your mind remains aware — but calm, open, and focused inward.
Working with the Subconscious
Once you’re in that relaxed state, your subconscious mind becomes easier to communicate with.
We’ll use positive suggestions, visualisation, or specific NLP techniques to help you shift patterns that have been holding you back.
Some people notice changes immediately — others find the effects unfold subtly over the following days.
After the Session
Most clients describe feeling:
Lighter, as if a weight has lifted
Calmer and clearer
Sleepy, but in a good way
It’s common to have a great night’s sleep afterwards, as your mind begins integrating the new patterns.
Hypnotherapy isn’t something that happens to you — it’s something you experience with guidance.
